Australia Reign at Home

Flannels England travel for The Australian Polo International

On Saturday 6 April, Windsor Polo club hosted The Australian Polo International. The day began with NSW Country defeating NSW City in the Colts match, with a narrow 7½-6 win. Australia pipped Flannels England to the post, 3-1, in the Ladies’ International match which saw Indi Benetto named as Most Valuable Player as well as her seven-year-old gelding Canonbar Revenge receiving the Best Playing Pony honour. The men’s teams were escorted onto the field by the NSW Police Marching Band and a selection of Bentleys and the men’s International once again saw the home side secure victory with Australia lifting The Mountbatten Memorial Trophy with a final score of 9-8. Ruki Baillieu was named Most Valuable Player and he also received Champion Playing Pony for Pistol, with The Hurlingham Polo Association’s Olly Hughes presenting the trophy to the winning team.
