Wed 10th Apr 2019WPL’s Triple Crown of Polo ContinuesSemi Finals take place tomorrow
The World Polo League’s Triple Crown of Polo continued over the weekend, with a flurry of matches. On Saturday 6 April, Colorado had a close call against Alegría, with the scores tied at 6-6 going into the final chukka. However, Colorado managed to score four goals in order to leap ahead to finish the match with a score of 10-6 as well as secure a place in the Semi Finals tomorrow, Thursday 11 April. Despite the loss, Alegría’s Fred Mannix Jr was happy with his team’s performance. "We did play well, I am proud of these guys, Juan Martín [Obregon] is playing well in the back. Jesse [Bray] is playing well. Gringo [Colombres] is distributing the ball well. I think it shows that we can be competitive if we put it together for six chukkas. It's a shame about the last chukka. They were just too good for us in the last moments." The action continued the following day with three matches to decide the remaining Semi Finalists with Audi defeating WPL, 10-6, GCPC defeating Mandarina, 14-13 and Valiente defeating Black Watch, 13-10. The Semi Finals take place tomorrow, Thursday 11 April, with the Final scheduled for Sunday 14 April.
