Over the past week, the 10 King Power Gold Cup teams have been battling for gains on the Cowdray Park Polo Club grounds, in the heart of West Sussex. This year’s tournament has already seen a number of surprising results, with a number of favourites losing their initial qualifying matches. The results from the past week are as follows: 2 July: La Bamba de Areco defeated Emlor, 9-6 3 July: Talandracas defeated Monterosso, 12-9 3 July: La Indiana defeated Scone, 11-7 4 July: Park Place defeated VS King Power, 13-7 6 July: Dubai defeated Scone, 12-7 6 July: Murus Sanctus defeated La Bamba de Areco, 11-10 7 July: Talandracas defeated La Indiana, 7-6 7 July: Emlor defeated Park Place, 11-9 In other exciting news, Thursday’s match saw the high goal debut of 13-year-old Louis Hine, for Park Place, the youngest ever British player to take part in The British Open. Play continues at Cowdray Park on Tuesday 9 July, with La Bamba de Areco taking on VS King Power at midday, and Dubai versus Monterosso at 3pm. The Quarter Finals will take place this weekend, followed by the Semi Finals on Wednesday 17 July and the long-awaited Final on Sunday 21 July.
