The 48th MANSION International Polo Tournament at Santa María Polo Club came to an end on Saturday 31 August after 35 days of competition, with The LG Signature High Goal Final between Brunei and MB Polo. Spectators were treated to a great display of polo, with the scores tied in four of the six chukkas. In the final chukka, MB Polo took a two goal lead, but Brunei clawed back the deficit and the Final threatened to push into a final chukka. But, in the end it was MB Polo who took home the high goal Gold Cup title with a 9-8 victory. MB Polo’s patron, HRH Mateen Bolkiah, was named Most Valuable Player and Kenya, played by Tommy Beresford was named Best Playing Pony. The day before, Friday 30 August, the medium and low goal competitions had also come to an end. In The LG Signature Medium Goal Gold Cup Final, Brunei faced Bronze and Silver Cup winners Ayala. In an exciting Final, Brunei took advantage from the first throw-in, but by the fifth chukka Ayala had staged a successful comeback and the final chukka began with the scores tied 7-7. However, Brunei found their form once again and took the title with a winning score of 9-7. Matias Gonzalez was named the Most Valuable Player and Venus, played by Lucas James was awarded Best Playing Pony. Jolly Roger King secured the Subsidiary Final with a 13-6 win over Esso. In The Isolas 1892 Gold Cup Low Goal Final, Rhone Hill had a last minute line-up alteration with. Bautista Panelo replacing Nicolás López Fuentes; nonetheless Rhone Hill secured the title with a final score of 10-8 against La Clarita and Panelo was named Most Valuable Player. Panda, played by Jimbo Fewster was named the Best Playing Pony.
