Tue 18th Aug 2020RCBPC Victrix LudorumMonterosso Vikings secure win
On Saturday 15 August, Elodie Avarguez’s Cadence, took on Siri Bazzoni’s Monterosso Vikings in the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club Ladies Victrix Ludorum Polo Festival Final. Both teams were evenly matched, which was reflected in the goalless first chukka. Monterosso Vikings managed to add their names to the scoreboard before half-time with a converted 30 yard penalty. Despite their best efforts and multiple runs upfield, Cadence struggled to score, while Monterosso Vikings were three goals ahead by the end of the third chukka. With a just a few minutes of the last chukka remaining, Milly Hine and Lia Salvo teamed up to score for Cadence, but it was not enough to bridge the gap and Monterosso Vikings took the title with a final score of 3-1. Hazel Jackson-Goana was the British Polo Gin Most Valuable Player and Seven Seven, played by Lia Salvo and owned by Vieri Antinori was the Polo Times Best Playing Pony.
