Wed 18th Nov 2020RS Murus Sanctus Qualify for Hurlingham Open FinalNewcomers overwhelm title holders
Yesterday, Tuesday 17 November, newcomers RS Murus Sanctus rocked the boat and overthrew the rule of La Dolfina Saudi, defending champions on The Hurlingham Open. The day began with the return of Facundo Sola to the RS Murus Sanctus line-up following his injury, while La Dolfina Saudi were still lacking David ‘Pelón’ Stirling and Juan Martin Nero, again due to injury. The first half was fairly even, but in the fifth chukka RS Murus Sanctus began to take advantage of the opportunities coming their way especially the technical fouls from La Dolfina Saudi, which finally led to two yellow cards for Adolfo Cambiaso who had to leave the game for two minutes. Fran Elizalde had a particularly good match, complemented by his three teammates and defeated the 2019 Hurlingham Open champions with a convincing score of 16-12, securing RS Murus Sanctus’ place in The Hurlingham Open Final on Sunday 22 November. For the first time since 2010, La Dolfina Saudi will arrive in Palermo for The Argentine Open without having won The Tortugas nor The Hurlingham Opens. The action continues today with the second Semi Final between Ellerstina, winners of the recent Tortugas Open, and La Natividad/ Las Monjitas (4pm local time).
