Golden Goal for Bardon

The Out-Sourcing Inc. Royal Windsor Cup

On Sunday 19 June, Bardon successfully claimed The Out-Sourcing Inc. Royal Windsor Cup with a golden goal from Isidro Strada, narrowly defeating Andrew Dechet’s Ainsley Saddlery 11-10 in extra-time. The win for Andras Tombor avenged his gutting half goal loss in last year’s Final at the hands of Emlor, although they once again had a fight on their hands as Ainsley Saddlery would not give an inch. Unfortunately, however, Ainsley Saddlery did not have luck on their side as they had been forced to make two changes to their team line-up after Dechet himself was injured in the Quarter Finals; being replaced in the Final by the very capable Jack Whitman, while the impressive 12-year-old Rufino Laulhe took on Number One duties from his brother Beltran in the Ainsley squad and is definitely a player to keep an eye on in the future.
Strada was named Most Valuable Player and Matias Machado’s mare Open Calloway, was chosen as the Best Playing Pony; Open Calloway is no stranger to the BPP presentation, she also received the Polo Times Best Playing Pony rug in 2021 in The Indian Empire Shield Final.
The Out-Sourcing Inc. Royal Windsor Cup Final Teams:
Bardon (15): Andras Tombor (0), Kian Hall (3), Isidro Strada (6) & Teodoro Lacau (6)
Ainsley Saddlery (15): Rufino Laulhe (1), Jack Whitman (1), Manuel Plaza (6) & Guillermo Terrera (7)
