Mon 23rd Sep 2024The Jockey Club Open for The Thai Polo Cup FinalLa Hache secure 13-9 win against defending champions Scone
Scone's hopes for a hat trick were dashed as they were unable to secure a third consecutive title. Winners in 2022 and 2023, David Paradice’s side was outplayed by La Hache, who took home The 59th Jockey Club Open for The Thai Polo Cup on Saturday 21 September. La Hache, led by Hilario Ulloa, took control of the game from the outset, building a commanding 9-4 lead by half-time. The key to their success was the dynamic pairing of Paquito de Narvaez and Benjamin Panelo, who each scored five goals. La Hache's cohesive and dominant play throughout the seven chukkas proved too much for Scone, who struggled to close the gap. In the end, La Hache secured a 13-9 victory, marking an important win just days before the start of The Argentine Triple Crown. Benjamin Panelo, the top scorer of the tournament, received the Most Valuable Player award; Lavinia Mal Vista, played by Ulloa, was the Best Playing Pony and Antu Wallung Cuki, played by de Narvaez, was the Best Polo Argentino Bred.
