Played over the last weekend in January each year, The Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz is an unique event like no other, with teams battling it out on the frozen Lake St. Moritz to claim the prestigious title. The six international teams have just been confirmed (see below) and will see the return of 2019 winner, Melissa Ganzi, fresh from her recent win in The World Polo League Beach Polo World Cup in Miami; Eduardo Greghi returns again with The Kusnacht Practice for his third year with a brand new line-up; Jonathan Tidswell-Pretorius and Niclas Johansson will return again for the second consecutive year with the same line-up (which includes the mighty David ‘Pelón’ Stirling) and will play as Flexjet in 2025; Dillon Bacon returns to St. Moritz and will play in Team Taos with the only Brit in the tournament, Max Charlton, who has four previous St. Moritz titles; Grant Ganzi will be playing under the Team Mackage colours for 2025; 2022 and 2023 winners Team Azerbaijan – Land of Fire return again in 2025 seeking their third title. In 1985 polo players from Munich, Paris and Geneva arrived with their entourages to compete in two teams and 40 years later, multiple teams will once again be converging upon the ultra-chic resort of St. Moritz to compete. “This 40th anniversary is an incredibly important milestone for all of us”, says founding father Reto Gaudenzi. “It is a very special opportunity to look back on the impressive development of the tournament and at the same time to celebrate the future of snow polo. We are very much looking forward to sharing this fantastic event with our partners, players and visitors.” For tickets and more information, please click here.
