Mon 10th Feb 2025Buena Vibra Win U.S. Open Women’s Polo Championship Second half comeback secures 12-9 win
On Sunday 9 February, Buena Vibra bounced back in the second half of The U.S. Open Women’s Polo Championship Final to secure themselves a 12-9 win and the 2025 title. This was the second consecutive win for Buena Vibra (they beat 90210 Polo in the 2024 Final) with Milly Hine and Valentina Tarazona playing in both the 2025 and 2024 winning teams. La Fe Eastern Hay, with 10 goaler Hope Arellano, dominated the first half and held a 7-5 lead at half-time, but after the break and half-time team talk, Buena Vibra emerged re-energised and with their sights set firmly on the win. After drawing level in the fourth chukka, 8-8, they took the lead for the first time in the fifth chukka, 9-8 and then outscored their opponents three goals to one in the last chukka to secure their 12-9 win. Cande Fernández Araujo was named Most Valuable Player and Machitos Felpa, played by Fernández Araujo, was chosen as the Best Playing Pony.
