U.S. Open Polo Championship Well Underway

Today’s matches: Pilot vs Globalport & Park Place vs Clearwater

The third and final phase of the Gauntlet of Polo – The U.S Open Polo Championship – is in full swing at the National Polo Center in Wellington, Florida with 12 teams up to 22 goals competing.

On Sunday 30 March Globalport beat BTA in a hard-fought match which went down to the last chukka to secure a 10-7 win and after a few days of rest the tournament resumed on Wednesday 2 April with three matches: The Setai secured their first win with a last chukka comeback to narrowly beat Brookshire 13-12; the next match saw Adolfo Cambiaso beat his son Poroto with an 11-10 win for La Dolfina/Tamera vs La Dolfina Catamount and the third match of the day saw C.V. Whitney Cup and USPA Gold Cup runners up, Coca-Cola, beat La Fe Eastern Hay 13-8.

The action continues today with Pilot vs Globalport (1pm local time) and Park Place vs Clearwater (5.30pm local time). If you aren’t in Palm Beach to catch all of the action, don’t despair as you can watch all of the matches live via the USPA Polo Network here.
