Wed 28th Jan 2009Katie Price to play polo at the British Open Katie Price has confirmed she will be taking part in a celebrity arena polo match at one of the UK’s blue chip equestrian events, the British Open Show Jumping Championships.
The British Open (16th – 19th April at Birmingham’s NEC) hosts world-class show jumping featuring the top British and foreign International riders alongside exciting competitions including arena polo. Not only will Katie be playing beside some of Britain’s leading arena polo players and against a fellow celebrity on Sunday 19th April, she will also have the opportunity to watch the final of the prestigious British Open Show Jumping Championship contested by Olympic riders.
The British Open Celebrity Arena Polo match on Sunday 19th April will comprise of two chukkas giving thousands of expected visitors an insight into the “moves” and “shots” the celebrities have learnt in preparation for the fierce competition. Katie will captain her team of three, Team KP Equestrian, and face an equally competitive celebrity team whose captain will be confirmed by organisers, Grandstand Event Management, shortly. As one of the fastest and most dangerous sports in the world, Polo is a truly thrilling spectator’s sport and with two gutsy celebrities at the helm expect fun and fireworks!
