The World Polo League Palm Beach Open Final

SD Farm take top title

Audi and SD Farms met in The World Polo League Palm Beach Open Final on Sunday 24 March at Grand Champions Polo Club. Before the main event of the day, in the Subsidiary Final, Valiente faced Alegría for The Molina Cup at Valiente Polo which saw Alegría defeat Valiente 11-10 with Alegría’s Jesse Bray being named Most Valuable Player.
Both teams entered The World Polo League Palm Beach Open Final undefeated with crowds gathering on the sidelines to witness a clash of the titans between these two powerhouse teams with a 10 goal player on each team. In the end, the score rested on 11-7 in favour of SD Farms, who took home not only The Palm Beach Open but also $75,000 in prize money. At the prize giving Adolfo Cambiaso was named as Most Valuable Player, commenting, “I’m happy, it’s been a great tournament, I think we played a great Final and I’m looking forward to the next tournament where I think I’ll be playing for Colorado with Rob Jornayvaz. I’m happy with The World Polo League and I am looking forward to the next instalment.” As always with World Polo League tournaments there were a flurry of Best Playing Pony accolades with The American Polo Horse Best Playing Pony of the Final going to Miami played by Cambiaso, while Libanella, played by Pablo Mac Donough, was named the Grand Champions Polo Club Best Playing Pony. The American Polo Horse Best Playing Pony of the Tournament was awarded to Medallon. A full report will follow in the next issue of Polo Times.
