Wed 1st May 2019USA End of Season Handicap Changes Gonzalito Pieres and Hazel Jackson-Gaona go to 10
The United States Polo Association (USPA) has released its end of season handicap changes, following an exciting season of high goal polo, which saw Pilot lift the £1,000,000 Gauntlet of Polo prize after winning The C.V. Whitney Cup, The USPA Gold Cup and The US Open Polo Championship. Pilot’s number three, Gonzalito Pieres has therefore been raised to 10 goals, having played a number of seasons at 9. Furthermore, the Most Valuable Player of The US Open Polo Championship Final, Francisco Elizalde has also been raised, from 8 to 9 goals.
In the women’s rankings, Brit Hazel Jackson-Gaona leads the charge, with a rise from 9 to 10 goals, joining fellow Brit and world-number-one Nina Clarkin at the top. Elsewhere, Mia Cambiaso, daughter of world famous player Adolfo Cambiaso, has been raised from 6 to 7 goals effective from 1 June, and then to 8 goals effective from 1 January 2020.
