Wed 7th Jul 2021Royal Windsor Horse Show 2021Polo pony class results
Friday 2 July saw the return of the Royal Windsor Horse Show, after its postponement in 2020 due to the pandemic. The hiatus had not affected support for the event, with the limited tickets selling out immediately. this year’s Polo Pony Class, sponsored by Guards Polo Club, saw the previous division of the class into ROR and polo-bred ponies scrapped, with only seven entrants making it to the day – compared to 19 entrants in the show in 2019. Antony Fanshawe returned to judge for the sixth year, joined by Lord Charles Beresford for the first time, whose late uncle created the class and was a judge for 12 years as well as the most successful competitor. Following a three minute demonstration from each entrant and a ridden judgement from Fanshawe, Siri Evjemo-Nysveen secured the entire podium with Riba Roja in first place, Machitos Fiorella in second and Machitos Barcelona in third.
