Thu 24th Dec 2009Mariano Aguerre leaves La Dolfina After five successful years with the team, the scorer of the golden goal in the recent Argentine Open final has decided to leave La Dolfina.
The forty year old player joined the Canuelas based team in 2005 and was instrumental to the team winning the Argentine Open in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009. Aguerre also won the Open on four other occasions with Ellerstina (1994, 1997 and 1998) and Indios Chapaleufu II (2001). Aguerre also won the Triple Crown in 1994 with Ellerstina.
Mariano said "I am leaving on a high and am very grateful to La Dolfina. I was very lucky to form part of such a great team."
No doubt there will be an announcement soon regarding his replacement, but will this mean that only one 40-team will remain?
