Following the culmination of the 2024 Argentine Triple Crown, the Argentine Association of Polo (AAP) Board of Directors announced their handicap changes.
Among the most important increases Cruz Heguy and Lucas Monteverde were raised from 8 to 9; Antonio Heguy, Benjamin Panelo, Facundo Llosa, Gonzalo Ferrari, Isidro Strada and Mariano Gonzalez were raised from 7 to 8; and Beltran Laulhe, Lorenzo Chavanne, Felix Esain, Javier Guerrero, Jesse Bray, Joaquin Panelo, Paco de Narvaez and Ricardo Garros were raised from 6 to 7.
David ‘Pelón’ Stirling, who also announced his retirement from The Triple Crown, saw his handicap reduced from 10 to 9 as well as Alfredo Bigatti and Juan Britos from 9 to 8 goals; Cristian Laprida, Facundo Fernández Llorente, Ignacio Novillo Astrada, Jacinto Crotto, Juan Ruiz Guiñazú, Martín Podestá and Tomás Fernández Llorente from 8 to 7; and those of Bautista García, Facundo Obregón, Juan A. García Grossi, Mariano Aguerre, Matías Magrini and Sebastián Merlos from 7 to 6. The full list of changes can be viewed here.
The AAP Board of Directors also announced changes to 40 women’s handicaps (23 increases and 17 decreases) with Cande Fernández Araujo and Hazel Jackson rising from 9 to 10; Mía Cambiaso and Milly Hine were raised from 8 to 9; and Azucena Uranga from 6 to 7 just some of the changes.
