The 40th Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz

Action begins on the frozen Lake St. Moritz on 24 January

The 40th Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz will begin in less than three weeks, with six top teams set to compete in the most unique setting in the world. Organisers have confirmed that Lake St. Moritz, the vital playing surface for the prestigious event, is now completely frozen which means that the ice can be assessed for infrastructure installation. Once the ice has reached a thickness of 27cm a weight test will be carried out using a 7,700 kg snow groomer equipped with a floating device. This machine will rigorously test the stability of the ice to ensure it meets the highest safety standards before construction begins. Throughout the preparation phase, advanced ground-penetrating radar will continuously monitor the ice to ensure maximum safety.

The action will begin on Friday 24 January 2025 at 11am with TAOS vs MACKAGE, followed by Flexjet vs World Polo League at 12.15pm and The Kusnacht Practice vs Azerbaijan Land of Fire at 2.30pm. The tournament will continue on Saturday 25 January with the Semi Finals – the winners of Day 1 will head straight into the Semi Finals as well as the best losing team from the matches on Day 1. The 40th Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz Final will be played on Sunday 26 January at 2.30pm (local time). Tickets are available for purchase here, but don’t miss out as it is always a sell-out event!
