Teams Announced for Arena Polo International Day

Jack Hyde to Captain England team

The Arena Polo International Day teams have now been confirmed by the Hurlingham Polo Association – the day will feature two matches with England vs Argentina in The International Arena Test Match for The Bryan Morrison Trophy and Hurlingham vs Ranelagh in the Junior match on Saturday 18 January.

Jack Hyde, who made his Bryan Morrison debut in 2014 and has competed in the last three Bryan Morrison Trophy matches with wins in 2022 and 2023. Hyde will be joined by 2023 and 2024 England team mate Matias Amaya, with his regular team mate Grant Collett completing the team – together Collett and Amaya won The 2024 Surrey Hills Winter Trophy on their way to the Arena VL 12 Goal series title for Ojo Caliente. They will face an Argentine side for the first time in The Bryan Morrison Trophy and will face a strong side of Alfredo Bigatti (8), Adolfo Casabal (6) and Nico Roberts (5).

The Arena Polo International Day at All England Polo Club, Hickstead will begin with a Junior match at 11.45am with Hurlingham vs Ranelagh which will feature six up-and-coming young players. Hurlingham Captain Archie Heseltine won the 2024 Buckmaster Trophy and Colts Cup and will be joined by Arena Polo International Day newcomers Jacob Watson and Henry Oliver. Lucas Stern, who won the 2024 Colts Cup alongside Lucas Stern, will Captain the opposing Ranelagh team and will be playing alongside Bruno Bradshaw and Leo Stuart on their Arena Polo International Day debut. 

The Clubhouse will be open all day and early bird tickets are available at £8 per person here.

The International Arena Test Match for The Bryan Morrison Trophy Teams:

England (20): Jack Hyde (Captain) (8), Matias Amaya (7) & Grant Collett (5)

Argentina (19): Alfredo Bigatti (8), Adolfo Casabal (6) & Nico Roberts (5)

The Arena Polo International Day Junior Match Teams:

Hurlingham (5): Archie Heseltine (Captain) (2), Jacob Watson (2) & Harry Oliver (1)

Ranelagh (5): Lucas Stern (Captain) (2), Bruno Bradshaw (2) & Leo Stuart (1)
