Mon 14th Jul 2025Cowdray Gold Cup Semi Finals Set Kazak vs La Dolfina Marques de Riscal & La Dolfina Scone vs Ferne Park
Over a scorching hot weekend 12 – 13 July, The British Open Polo Championship for The Cowdray Gold Cup Quarter Finals were played at Cowdray Park Polo Club. On Saturday 12 July, a clash between two French organisations saw Kazak narrowly beat Gaston 12-11 with Kazak holding off a fifth and sixth chukka comeback by Gaston; the second match of the day saw an even match between UAE and La Dolfina Marqués de Riscal, with the latter securing a narrow 11-10 win.
The action continued on Sunday 13 July with a convincing 10-4 win for La Dolfina Scone against Aureus GV, whose line-up saw Juan Martín Zubía substituted in for Benjamín Panelo; the second match of the day went down to an extra chukka between Ferne Park and White Crane, with Ferne Park securing a close 11-10 win and with it their Semi Final spot.
These results mean that the Semi Finals on Wednesday 16 July will be between Kazak vs La Dolfina Marqués de Riscal at 12pm and La Dolfina Scone vs Ferne Park at 3pm. The Final is scheduled for Sunday 20 July at Cowdray Park Polo Club.
