La Aguada Don Ercole Secure 2026 Triple Crown Spot

Narrow 13-12 win vs La Zeta Kazak

On Sunday 7 December before The Argentine Open Final, La Zeta Kazak and La Aguada Don Ercole battled it out in the playoff for the eighth place in next year’s Triple Crown.
La Aguada Don Ercole opened stronger, but La Zeta Kazak settled and levelled the scores to 4-4 by the end of the third chukka. The momentum swung in the fourth chukka, as goals from Lorenzo Chavanne, Beltrán Lauhlé and Pelón Stirling saw La Zeta Kazak outscore their opponents 4 goals to 1.
La Aguada Don Ercole refused to fold. In the fifth chukka, Pedrinho Zacharias converted two penalties to close the gap to 8-10, and in the sixth chukka the gap narrowed to 11-10 in favour of La Zeta Kazak with just one chukka remaining. Llosa hit a brilliant early goal in the seventh to level the scores at 11-11, before a Zacharias penalty gave La Aguada Don Ercole a 12-11 lead. Drama followed – a penalty to La Zeta Kazak, converted by Chavanne, tied it 12-12. With seconds left and extra time looming, Llosa produced a stunning run to seal a 13-12 win. This automatically pre-qualifies them for the 2026 Triple Crown along with La Natividad La Dolfina, Ellerstina Indios Chapaleufú Vista, UAE Polo, La Ensenada Clonargen, La Irenita La Hache, Los Machitos El Refugio and La Hache Cría & Polo.
The Playoff Teams:
La Aguada (29): Facundo Llosa (8), Kristos Magrini (6), Pedro Zacharias (8) & Felipe Vercellino (7)
La Zeta Kazak (31): Lorenzo Chavanne (7), Beltrán Laulhé (7), David Stirling (9) & Nico Pieres (8)
