US Open Quarter Finals

Pilot still unbeaten

The Quarter Finals of The US Open continued over the weekend at the International Polo Club Palm Beach. With 16, 22 goal teams taking part, many are calling this the most competitive tournament of the year in the US.
On Saturday 13 April, Iconica and Tonkawa secured the first two Semi Final places following their wins against Cessna and Aspen.
The following day, Sunday 14 April, the remaining two Quarter Finals were scheduled with Pilot vs Daily Racing Form and Las Monjitas vs Equuleus. In the first match, Pilot managed to maintain their undefeated record with a 14-10 defeat of Daily Racing Form, leaving Pilot still in with a chance of securing the potential $1,000,000 Gauntlet of Polo prize pot. The fourth Quarter Final saw Las Monjitas face Equuleus, which Las Monjitas were leading 5-2. However, due to very heavy rainfall, the match had to be suspended midway through the fourth chukka, with the play recommenced yesterday, Monday 15 April. Las Monjitas ultimately defeated Equuleus 8-4 to secure the final Semi Final spot.
The Semi Finals are scheduled for Wednesday 17 April, with Pilot, Iconica and Tonkawa joining Las Monjitas to battle for the Final.
