On Sunday 16 February, over 4,000 spectators watched The 48th NZ Polo Open Final at Auckland Polo Club between Swift Roofing and Brinks. The rain held off and a competitive display of polo saw Swift Roofing secure an 11-8 win. The Standing Rock Fair Play Award was presented for the first time at The NZ Polo Open, with the Brinks team awarded with the trophy for their sportsmanship and positive attitude throughout the tournament. Glenn Sheriff was chosen as the Most Valuable Player; Moo, played by Thomas Hunt and owned by James Worker, was the Best Thoroughbred and Paige, owned and played by Hunt, was the Best Playing Pony.
