132nd Hurlingham Open Finalists

La Natividad La Dolfina vs UAE on Saturday 4 October

Following rain delays, the Semi Finals for The 132nd Hurlingham Open took place on Tuesday 30 September and Wednesday 1 October.
Tuesday’s Semi Final saw La Natividad La Dolfina and Ellerstina Indios Chapaleufu battle for the first Semi Final spot. Unlike their Quarter Final match against La Hache Cría & Polo in which La Natividad La Dolfina scored an impressive 29 goals, their Semi Final match was much closer with Ellerstina Indios Chapaleufu hot on their heels throughout the eight chukkas and even pushed the match into an extra chukka. Jeta Castagnola scored the winning goal in the last minutes of the extra chukka to secure the win.
On Wednesday 1 October, UAE and La Irenita La Hache clashed in the second Semi Final. UAE and La Irenita La Hache were evenly matched in the first half, tied 4-all through the third chukka. Polito Pieres and Lukin Monteverde pushed UAE ahead to 7-5 by halftime, while La Irenita La Hache’s only goal came from Pablo MacDonough’s stick.
The second half saw UAE dominate, led by Polito Pieres. La Irenita La Hache struggled to approach the goal as UAE’s defence shut down every attempt. Polito then scored three consecutive goals in the sixth chukka, extending UAE’s lead to 11-7. By the seventh chukka, UAE outscored their opponents 2-0 for a 13-7 advantage. La Irenita La Hache added two late goals through Fran Elizalde and Nachi du Plessis, but UAE held on for a 13-9 victory.
UAE claimed the second spot in the final of the first 2025 Triple Crown tournament in Argentina, where they will face La Natividad La Dolfina.
