A FAMED AMERICAN doctor and equestrian enthusiast has died after falling from his horse during a polo match. Dr Craig Ferrell, who was the US equestrian team doctor at the last three Olympics – at Sydney in 2000, Athens in 2004 and Beijing in 2008 – died at the age of 62 on Monday. He suffered a fall during a polo match near his home in Franklin, Tennessee last Wednesday and eventually died from his injuries on Monday. His funeral will take place tomorrow in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr Ferrell leaves behind his wife Lorraine, his two sons Jon and Aaron and his first grandchild, Michael, who tragically was born on the same day as the accident.
