2026 Arena International Results

Back to back wins for home teams

On Saturday 17 January, the All England Polo Club, Hickstead arena hosted back-to-back international matches. The day kicked off with a SUPA Intercollegiate Match between USA and Great Britain which saw each team field a squad of four, allowing for two players on each team half-seating (playing two chukkas each) which allowed more young players to enjoy the international experience in the arena. USA were the first onto the scoreboard, but Great Britian soon caught up and by half-time had a 5-3 lead. Robbie Slatter applied pressure to break a later tie-break and three quick goals took the score to 10-7 going into the final chukka. The last chukka went right down to the wire, but Great Britain held on and secured a 12-11 win. USA’s Kelsey Bray was chosen as the Most Valuable Player and Shadow, owned and played by Angus Smail, was chosen as the Polo Times Best Playing Pony.
The Bryan Morrison Trophy saw England face USA in a rematch of their 2023 battle which saw England lift the trophy. The match exploded into life as Matt Perry struck twice inside two minutes, Felipe Viana replied for the USA, but Perry continued his hot streak to make it 4-2. Tommy Biddle then showcased his experience with a two pointer goal to level, followed by a backhand giving the USA a brief lead. England debutant Josh Hyde equalised late for a 5-5 tie at the end of the opening chukka. Perry, who was later nominated as Most Valuable Player, again dominated the second as England surged ahead, leading 10-6 at half-time and 12-8 after chukka three. Despite USA resistance, England pulled clear, winning 17-11, their first win since 2023. Bugsy, owned by Mariano Darritchon and played by Perry, was chosen as the Best Playing Pony.
